The words of a nervous man whose team waited more than an hour to score a try against the bloody Pumas!
Bit nervous that the boys in Gold are going to tackle your 'let's start it all off with a prancing dance' squad to a standstill like we did the Boks? And the best of it all, is the pressure is ALL on the ABs: no one expects anything of us (remember 2003?). Bring it on! |

Yeah, I give it 50:50.
The pressure on the ABs is so much lower than previous WCs, that's mostly as expectations are lower. Everyone now knows the ABs can't handle the stupid amounts of pressure put on them, so by default the pressure is now off. Losing the last matches to the Boks and Wallabies also helps take more off.
As you say, bring it on.

England should beat France, SA will win against Australia, and NZ will be the other semi-finalists.
Wrong, wrong, wrong and correct.
I'm looking forward to both semi-finals. After my performance on the quarters, I don't feel able to predict the semis, other than the fact they'll both be good games (but for different reasons). I think Wales-France will be a very open game, full of running. Aus-NZ could be a bit brutal.
England got what they deserved. |

France kicked 3/3 and Wales 1/4. If they'd got 2/4 they'd have won.
The ref is getting a lot of stick over a harsh red-card call, but at the same time Warburton should never have made that stupid and dangerous tackle...
I'm still giving NZ/Aus 50:50, and predict that the winner of that match will beat France next week.

For the first time since 1999 I feel confident of world cup victory.
Bit disappointed in the kicking stats though, 4/9 ain't good. That should'a been more like 28:6 ...
The Wallabies were lucky to reach the semis. The French are lucky to reach the final. For the Mighty Men In Black luck has had nothing to do with it.
French toast for brekky next Sunday.

Now beat the French - you owe it to the world. |

New Zealand deserved the win; just had too much firepower.
I object to the statement that the Wallabies were lucky to make the semi - we won the QF fair and square, by bashing the woeful Boks into submission. If SA had have been in the Semi NZ would have won by a lot more.
I'm proud of my boys. Disappointed, but not as disappointed as the Welsh, I'm betting.
ALLEZ LES BLEUS! ;) |

Well I guess you're right in that the scorecard is the only thing that matters, and a solid wall across the field is one way to sneak ahead on points.

An Australian, a Welshman and a Frenchman met in a bar. They were in the departure lounge. |

One winning streak through a soft schedule doesn't erase 24 years of choking, mate... Win next week and it will START the redemption. Win two or three tournaments before you start slinging around such things... |

Well done New Zealand (at long last and only barely!). Shame for France, whom I would've liked to have won seeing as they put us out twice. |

Well fuck me...
I thought that match was gonna be a blowout. How wrong I was... Halfway through the 2nd half the dreaded 'c' word was in my throat...
A win in spite of the fact that our goal kicker's foot went from awesome to abysmal in the space of two weeks. I'm also glad that our fourth-choice of first five-eighths did the job when called upon. Rather relieved actually...
I guess anyone who thought France were un-deserving finalists or lucky to be there (myself included) can eat that scoreline.
But I know which side of an 8-7 result I'd rather be on.

Congratulations to all Kiwis (and Penguins).
Here's a pair of penguins suitably attired for today's final. |
