Objective: "Robocop" - the title character of one of the best films of the 80s has also become one of the most enduring sci-fi icons spawning a franchise of films, television series, comic books and computer games, which is ironic considering director Paul Verhoeven's film is a dark satire of American consumerism. The combination of violence, black humour, superb SFX and excellent performances defines the film, which unfortunately fell by the wayside for the second and awful third installments where even star Peter Weller sensibly stepped aside, not to mention the disappointing remake. It's time to review the Robocop films... you have 20 seconds to comply...
