MGuyX what did your brother do now? It seems to be pissing off alot of people. lol. Dis he stick his foot in his mouth? I am sure he can bounce back. All he needs is another commercial. I am not making fun or taking offense. It is just funny how people can build a guy up and then demolish him in a second.

This is ridiculous, I can't see what said wrong at all. People with their misplaced finger on the PC pulse will seize any opportunity to set it racing.

For anyone who has built a famous profile there are always a bunch of people waiting to tear them down.

It seems to come down to two things. The first is black women for so long feeling pressure to alter their hair (from whatever sources) that some automatically assume that any positive description cannot apply to it in its natural state (not that he even said it had to be naturally good, anyway).

The second is just that the whole Old Spice campaign pivots on his character being the charming man that their husband or boyfriend may not be and no woman feeling excluded from that: some people just don't have good hair and for some of them the consequent feeling of rejection has got all tangled up with a perception of internalised racism. It seems that whenever someone is famous for a certain persona, especially a suave one, then it's very hard for them to live up to.

Huh???

Have I missed something here? How does saying "I want my wife to have good hair" turn into "I don't want my wife to have curly black hair"?

Seems like there's a lot of assumptions going on here, which likely says more about the people making them than the person being accused of intending them.

Heck, he even said it has to be "real hair". What's more real than how hair grows naturally?

Some people are such over-reactive jerks, trying to making racial issues out of nothing.

This thing is ridiculous: my brother has a sense of humor; he made a joke; the delivery, however, doesn't translate to print and sounded a bit more negative instead of self-deprecating. Then a whole bunch of people read a billion and a half things into it.

It's bugging the crap out of him. Personally, I would have said "Fuck you if you can't take a joke, you miserable, no-man having haterous bitch-ass hoes!" That would have promptly destroyed my career, but for a few glorious moments ....

That really sucks. Isaiah has entertained so many of us so well with his wit, and of all the thousands of things he has said, he inadvertently hits a sour note, and people are ready to ditch him?

Because I know from MguyX that Isaiah is a very kind person, I understand that this situation must be causing him a lot of pain. His apology should have been enough for the public!

I suppose that is the down side of fame; one is viewed always being "on" and is not allowed to be human. My friends, family, and I remain fans of Isaiah Mustafa.

I've never understood why people feel the need to apologise when someone misunderstands a joke. The misunderstanders should be the ones apologising for lacking a sense of humour.

An apology is a plea of guilty. I see no need for such a plea from Old Spicey here.
