They don�t do things this way today, but Dr. Hollenberg came out and pronounced her dead. A bit later, my friend Susie Cash came out and was a great support. My heart was broken and I truly wanted to go with my mom. What really makes this month so odd is that when my mom died, Kennetha was pregnant. She gave birth to Sunshine on August 24th, so it was like a little bonus gift to make my life more tolerable. She shared her with me. Sunshine has been gone since 1985, but like my mom - and apparently Buddy Hall - she doesn�t leave my awareness in August. Everyone experiences loss in life. That�s only natural. But I gotta tell ya, for all its supposed goodness, August tends to stink as far as I�m concerned. It certainly ain't for sissies. Miss ya, mom.
