Posted - 06/22/2011 : 13:29:55 Some of you may recall a while ago I posted about a website I was launching for writers of unpublished short stories with membership for readers. Our own Joe Blevins has a wonderful story on the site, and so will Beanmimo if he gets his act together to send me some supplementary info to go with his super story.
So anyway -- I'm STILL trying to get an international viral campaign going and then - just a couple of days ago --
the lovey, wonderful, generous genius that is Stephen Fry put up a precious tweet flagging up the StoryCellar site. Steve's followers on Twitter are now over TWO MILLION.
I'm VERY excited. Joe, Beanie - did you hear that? 2 FUCKING MILLION!!!
Would anyone on fwfr care to submit a story? Become a member? Just help spread the word over all continents?
Did I mention - I'm VERY excited!
Here's the adorable online press release which has a link to the site itself.

Posted - 07/03/2011 : 23:01:38 Oooh ... this is sooooooooo good! Both Miriam Margolyes, OBE, and director/playwright/screenwriter Patrick Marber have provided some celebrity endorsements of StoryCellarOnline to add to Stephen Fry's!
It would be great if some of you fwfrers might like to become members - it's really cheap! As Mr Fry said in his tweet - "delicious stories for posterity"

EDIT - 13 Jul The local paper has picked up the story - I've posted up a .pdf copy of the article here
fwfr has now got two stories on the website by Joe Blevins and Beanmimo ... also just in, a story by Joe's co-blogger Craig J Clark.

Haven't written fiction in years, myself. And all my old stuff is... blah and old.
I did take a look, and I might just become a member, but I don't have much time.
Best of success with this! |
