What a roller coaster week for Ed - we have the most successful avatar contest in years and then Favre retires. Brett's cannon arm and gun slinger mentality will be missed - just not by me twice a year!

I'm over the moon about it!

In fact, I was just in Lambeau last weekend. Saw the trophy and all.

2 years? I just saw this and found it funny in retrospect.

I wasn't offended. I thought someone with your precognitive skills and global sports savvy would enjoy the comparison.

Yes he'll likely be compared to Brett, but I don't believe he'll be crucified by fans or booed for missing a receiver, at least not until it becomes a habit.

Guess we'll see soon enough.

I don't see why the suggestion that Pack fans aren't all that different from other sports fans should be so offensive to you. Yes, I've been to Green Bay and I know all about the special relationship you have with your team...but it's still pro sports, not Pop Warner. When a beloved player that's perceived as great leaves, his successor is almost invariably subjected to unfair comparisons. When something eventually goes wrong, the "dammit, Brett would have had that," responses are inevitable.

Whatever you say Nostradumas.

49ers fans were always "supportive," too. That didn't stop them from hating Steve Young for not being Joe Montana, until Young won them a Super Bowl.

The first time he misses an open receiver he will be booed. Of this I have no doubt.

A quarterback jumping into the stands? Kinda tacky, unless he runs it into the endzone himself.

It really doesn't matter what he does. If he doesn't take them to the Super Bowl, the fans will crucify him just because he's not Brett Favre.

The bad times with him at the helm were never his fault - sure in some games he blew it with ill-advised throws, but you put a decent team around him and he goes 13-3 like last year (of course losing twice to the Bears )

He was great to watch and I only hated him and the Pack when they played the Bears and he beat us more oftwen than not.

What do you think about Rodgers - any good - not enough data?

The chances are he'll stink. Very little data but he seems fragile, the anti-Favre, gets hurt the instant he's put in a game.

Maybe with a solid team around him you can get by with a weak QB (remind you of any teams?), but I doubt it, not for long or very well.

Say, who? Is it the bald guy, the gray haired guy or the chubby guy?
