My big current project: www.PaintHorseVideos.com. What was most fun was writing scripts to parse the Paint assn's html results pages to convert the information for a database.

I'm still working on editing and uploading recorded webcast and I've begun processing webcast recordings for the Palomino Horse Breeders show also. I do this mostly for fun and for the little bit of ego boost and notoriety it gives me.

Thanks for the kind words, duh! I can see you've put such a lot of work into that site ... I'll bet the breeders and fans thank their lucky stars for what you're giving them.

That's pretty impressive Fluff. Do you do much business through it??

Well, so far I've more than covered my costs...I'm pleased enough, but could always do better. We sell books directly by email as well...people ask us for a particular book; if we have it, they buy it; if we don't, we try to hunt it down for them...

Sounds good to me

Well, right now I'm okay, mostly due to my buying lots of books via Amazon.co.uk (which I have sent to my sister-in-law in Holland who either gives them to people coming to Israel or brings them herself when she visits). But my husband reads very quickly (my dyslexia slows me down), and mostly prefers British authors (having been born in London), so he's always running low on things to read. We used to have a British Council Library here which had a marvelous selection, but they closed down and the general library that took their books don't seem to care about getting new titles (not to mention that their hours are such that we can't get there).

I could have you mail them to our New York office care of my boss who gets there at least 4 times a year and would be willing to bring them back for me. So that might be a cheaper alternative. I'll take a closer look at what's there. Thanks!

It depends on the size and weight of the book: it could be anywhere from US$8.00 to God knows what. I just shipped a book to Australia for about $13 (the book was worth about $15...but it's out of print and next to impossible to find in the Antipodes....The customer wanted it sent by surface, which probably means they won't see it for 6 weeks)....We do have a lot of books that would be pricier to ship (they're pricey for me to ship even within North America)..but we have a lot of softcovers and not so heavy books that I could probably ship for less than $15....Sometimes it's worth it for our customers to buy two books because two paperbacks, for instance, because neither book weighs much, can be mailed for the same price as one. By the way, we have a lot more books in our store that we haven't listed online....if you're looking for something in particular, send me a PM of your wish list. Who knows??? Maybe we'll have a book you can't find anywhere!

Really? That's pretty cool.

(Now if only I could buy used books online and get them shipped to me in Israel.)

I can check shipping rates to Israel if you like ...

Yeah, that would be nice. But I kind of doubt it would be worth my while. Still... go ahead!
