Objective: In 2000, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck decided to create a contest to give aspiring writer/directors the chance they themselves were given in 1997 with 'Good Will Hunting.' They called it Project Greenlight, and proceded to louse it up in every way possible - choosing sappy made-for-TV ready scripts, emphasizing visual flash over visual storytelling in their choice of directors, demanding a studio mindset on an indie budget, and letting the reality TV show trump the filmmaking. The actual films that resulted are pretty much afterthoughts. Review them, if you can work up the enthusiasm.
